I get the same results attempting to connect to the server from Kodi on another machine running Windows 10 on the same LAN. I'm reasonably confident the client is finding the server because if I change the port details so they don't match on client and server I get a "PVR server stopped communicating" error message instead. I'm yet to dig into the logfiles (family is now watching tv on that box using media centre) but after trawling through google searches and forum posts I thought I'd post early in case it is something really obvious I have missed. Use Android File Sharing instead and mount your smb drives there. Then set the user and password credentials in kodi for the network share connection. Since then I've been very frustrated by how difficult it has been to get Kodi to play nicely with it! I've installed Kodi on the same box and selected the MediaPortal PVR client and configured it with correct IP and port details to match the config shown in the MP2 server config.Īll I get from Kodi is the error "Add-on couldn't be loaded. Created a new user account on the pc for Kodi. Now if you have the previous folder configuration, then this should fix it for you immediately. But if you are new user, then you need to re add the directory again (smb://YOUR server IP) and then go in and add each shared folder one by one.Īlso on the step above I did setup the workgroup to be the same one as my server and also setup WINS server to the same IP address as my router/gateway.I've successfully installed MP2 server to my windows 7 pc today and was happy with how easily configured it was to identify my TV tuners and scan for channels. This doesn't work with non-user/pass folder. If you want to access the folder then do the step below:Īfter the above setting, Now Legacy mode will be available turn it ON (you need to restart and come back) Set max requirement to SMBv1 (you need to restart and come back)Īt this stage you will be able to connect SMB now but got stuck in user/pass. Set min requirement to SMBv1 (you need to restart and come back) This is the step I took and got it to working. Thanks everyone for help posting the fix for this version.I'm not sure why this is happening, having SMB should be standards and I don't know why it is getting more complicated each time.
